‘whatever’ is officially the ‘most annoying word’
on the drive with kenny jones – we discovered a poll that showed nearly half of us said that “whatever” is considered to be the most annoying word.
the popular slacker term of indifference was found “most annoying in conversation” by 47% of american surveyed in a Marist college poll.
here’s what the drive contingent had to contribute as far as words they found to be “most annoying.”

whatever easily beat out “you know” which only grated a quarter of people surveyed. the other annoying contenders were “anyway” at 7%, “it is what it is” with 11% and finally “at the end of the day” earned 2% of the vote.
