on the drive with kenny jones – we talked about andy waite, 42, who owns a bodyshop in the uk.  he bought a 1979 vw Golf for $79, and spent nearly $90,000 to soup it up…that’s right – 90 grand!

his modified the golf includes a custom-built turbocharged engine that can hit speeds of 0-60mph in just 2.36 seconds – a tenth faster than the bugatti veyron.  the little beast has a top speed of 180mph and also beat the bugatti in a quarter-mile sprint.

but why andy?  why?!?  no matter how fast it is, at the end of the day – it’s still a 1979 vw golf.

we thought we’d play a round of “which would you rather” with the drive contingent.  We asked if they’d rather have an ugly fast car or a nice looking car that was slow.  here’s what they had to say…
