on the drive with kenny jones – we got into a heated debate over photography. some of the drive contingent think that the digital camera is the greatest invention since sliced bread, while others believe that the digital age has ruined photography.
a man known as “grady” has recently launched a website called keggersofyore.com. the site features loads of party photos from the 70s and 80s.
he claims digital cameras have destroyed the joy of viewing photos. there is no longer that “delayed gratification” that comes with developing a roll of film. these days you can take 250 photos after a night of partying and look at them within’ hours of the event – and social networking sites have made it even worse.
is he on to something here? has the digital camera killed photography? here’s the drive contingent’s thoughts on the matter…

digital cameras are nothing new – they’ve been around since 1975 – that’s when steven j. sasson invented the first one. it weighed 8 pounds, captured a .01 megapixel image that took 23 seconds to record onto a digital cassette tape. to view the photo you had to hook it up to a television set.
imagine totin” that bad boy around disney world. i think i’m all set with my elf, thanks – it’s smaller than my wallet. so suck it up, grady…
digital cameras are here to stay!
