drive rewinds, the drive

can anything good come of winter?

on the drive with kenny jones – we’ve been doing our best to keep warm…and dry.  here in the hashimite kingdom of jordan we’re experiencing a winter wonderland…kind of…but not really.  during the winter months in amman, it gets cold and the skies open up.

and apparently it’s official – the winter months are here.  it’s been raining for 2 days straight.  and we haven’t seen sunshine for longer than that.  did i mention IT’S FRIGGIN’ FREEZING!  here in lies the problem…

I DON’T DO WINTER!

the drive contingent was quick to point out that the cold & rain was here to stay.  have a listen to them breaking the bad news to me on the show…

i still don’t understand the listeners’ fascination (or even tolerance) of winter.  their examples of the “good things” that come from winter were mediocre, at best.

the holidays i can get on board with.  i do love christmas, thanksgiving and new years.  but a nicely decorated palm tree – just as nice as a douglas fir!

and winter fashion – i can do without it.  board shorts, flip-flops and t-shirt (which is completely optional) on a nice sandy beach somewhere is definitely – without a doubt, what i prefer.

looks like i may have to break down do something i haven’t had to do for years and that’s purchase a coat.

maybe not quite like that one ~~~~~>

but you’ve gotta cut me some slack, i haven’t had to shop for one for a while.

other possible apparel needs:  a sweater (or jumper – depending on where you’re from), more than one long sleeved shirt, a hat, wool socks, long underwear and if i have to buy a snow suit…

I QUIT!

catch the drive with kenny jones – weekdays from 4-7pm exclusively on beat-fm 102.5 and online at mybeat.fm.
